Bankruptcy Trial Delay: Judge pushes start date a week

Writing that “the record does establish extraordinary cause for the limited adjournments of hearing dates and the limited extensions of deadlines,” Judge Steven Rhodes moved the start date for Detroit’s bankruptcy “trial” a week into the future.

The confirmation hearing on the city’s Plan of Adjustment, as the court sessions are formally known, is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 21.
